Ambika Mess, a homely meal serving restaurant from Calicut is located on Mavoor Road near Arayidathupalam. This restaurant opens only during lunch hours – from 11:30 am till 3:00 pm – on all days except Sundays.
In our Ambika Mess video, we are exploring this small restaurant for a banana-leaf-meals with fish fries and other vegetable curries. What I liked most about the lunch there was the coconut shrimps chutney.
Price of the delicacies that we tried in Ambika Mess:
Meals – Rs. 50.00
Ayakoora fry (Kingfish fry) – 150.00
Mathi fry (Sardines fry) – 70.00
Natholi fry (Anchovy fry) – 70.00
Very close to Ambika Mess is Amma Hotel which we did a video ( ) almost a year ago. Amma hotel is famous for its fish fry (especially Aykoora fish fry) while Ambika Mess for its meals.
